3-4/5-24   THOUGHTS                       (Sorry for technical problems yesterday)

As you read this you are  “walking before the Lord in the land of the living.”  We take so much for granted.  Our reading this morning reminds me of some primary things.   1John 4:19   “We love, because He first loved us.”   It ALL starts with God!   All blessings flow from Him!  Jesus is the essential key to the sense of eternity.   Unceasing love is the environment and method.  1Pet 2:9    “But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR [God’s] OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”

Ps 116:1-9    I love the LORD, because He hears My voice and my supplications. 2  Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.  3  The cords of death encompassed me And the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow. 4  Then I called upon the name of the LORD: "O LORD, I beseech You, save my life!"  5  Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate. 6  The LORD preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. 7  Return to your rest, O my soul, For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.  8  For You have rescued my soul from death, My eyes from tears, My feet from stumbling.  9  I shall walk before the LORD  In the land of the living.

My Prayer:
O Compassionate God, preserve us, the simple.  Keep us that we might proclaim Your  excellencies.  Help us to speak humbly and boldly and joyfully of the great things You have done and do for us.  Rescue us from this world and from ourselves.  Remove from our way, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.  Keep us in the shadow of the cross, with our hearts set on Jesus.  May our eyes be single and focused, seeing good and love as You see it.  Help us to look for every possibility set before us.  We love and praise You from Your first, great forever loving.
